O'Pote in Hamburg

A nice original Italian run restaurant. Highly recommended and please call and ask if TakeAway is possible. Such shops are not allowed to close. We had a good meal. Local 3.5 stars clean and attractive, but that certain something is missing. Service and quality 5 stars Therefore 4 stars. The prices are unbeatable for the quality and service.

I am here regularly and the food is just fantastic. The service is top notch, great staff and always available for a sambuca. I recommend everyone who comes to Hamburg!

Very tasty Italian food for a fair and not completely absurd price. The staff and the owner are very kind and hospitable. The restaurant is not huge, but offers a cozy atmosphere for a few nice hours with good food and the odd wine or grappa. A highlight is of course the pasta, which is prepared in a loaf of parmesan. A little show and it smells delicious in the restaurant afterwards. In addition to the normal menu, there are always seasonal offers on a board that the waitress brings to the seat.

One of the best restaurants in Hamburg! Great service, the food came very quickly and was extremely tasty! As a little treat there was a dessert on the house. That's what I call service! The manager was also very attentive, as was the service staff. Also very fair in terms of price for the quality of the food and all the trimmings! We will be back definitely! Thanks to the whole team!

Very tasty Italian dishes with very nice service and good value for money. Only 4 stars because I was accidentally brought the wrong dish, it can happen, we then simply swapped dishes internally ... but I expect a little sorry as "customer service" (espresso or uh ...), someone wanted that from the service too (he informed us), unfortunately he had to discuss this with "boss" but who came to us (after we had eaten) to tell me that I had ordered the "delivered" ... friendly, but not good customer service (at this experienced moment). Therefore “only” 4 stars.

The restaurant is very nice, the tables are well set, the aperitif was good and the pizza was very, very tasty. That's the only reason I give so many stars. Because: Unfortunately, the service was quite hectic and a bottle or a glass kept breaking, so that we were sitting between broken glass. And the service was also inattentive, which made ordering difficult. You sit uncomfortably close to the neighboring tables. The sanitary facilities are not particularly clean, but they also clearly "in need of renovation" and the toilet flush in one of the cabins is broken.

We had a wonderful evening yesterday. Candlelight and beautiful weather accompanied our presence at O´Pote. We had very good service and the food ... The food was very tasty ..! I will definitely visit this restaurant again! Everything was just right. I am happy that this restaurant is in Hamburg and that we found it!

LOVED.IT. Had a wonderful evening here. Service was outstanding with knowledgeable staff and amazing recommendations. Pasta was finished in front of us in a huge Parmesan pot. Amazing quality of food and drinks. Couldn’t ask for more. Will definitively come back.

You will be welcomed and greeted very friendly here. In the evening when we were there, we could choose our own seat. After a short time, the waiter kindly gave us a weekly menu. Aperitif: olives with different sauces and bread was nice. The food was very tasty, nicely seasoned, simply optimally prepared 1 !! We liked the ambience a lot. It has a romantic touch. We will definitely be back.

Enjoyed the food at O ​​'Pote! We were hungry and did not look extensively for a location, but this was a direct hit. Staff is quite busy. Flies in all directions. At first seems like they don't make time for you. But that is not true. They enjoy it, talk Italian in between and make a joke. They don't know an empty glass. Owner also in attendance who really is a host and looks after the customers. The only thing is: it takes a little longer, which was no problem for us. But we sat inside for over two hours. If you don't have that time, come back later. You get bread and olives in advance, as you would expect from an Italian. As a main course I had taken a specialty. Made at the table. Very nice to see and the taste is perfect. My table companion ordered a piece of meat from the menu and was very pleased with it. There is an extensive wine list. But we both like a beer more. So we didn't try those. There is enough vegetarian! The dessert menu was impressive. So we had already decided to go for dessert. Expresso, limmoncello and Tiramisu. Again a must! The cook also enjoys his work and turns it into something beautiful. Price for two people of about 100 euros. You can certainly eat out cheaper in Hamburg. But the quality of the food, the experience and the passionate staff are more than worth it.

Very nice atmosphere and attentive waiters! The food was also delicious but the portions could be a little bigger. But you get free bread with olives and aioli, so you don't end up hungry.

Absolutely not recommended for ordering for collection. My friends and I had ordered two pizzas to be picked up. After waiting over an hour, we were informed that our pizzas had been given to another customer. It was only after another 20 minutes of waiting that we were given our ordered pizzas. The service was really underground. The waiters just wanted to get us out of the restaurant. There was no excuse for the waiting time and the delivery of our order. Only when we had complained was there a bottle of goodwill, which is why the rating with 2 stars. The pizzas themselves were lukewarm and in good taste. Given the large number of Italian restaurants that truly ask for a similar, if not even better taste experience paired with better service, we will never visit this restaurant again.

Great Italian cuisine with excellent service in the heart of St. Georg! Little things like turning the pasta in a 20kg parmesan slice at the table give the restaurant extra flair. All of this at reasonable prices - you can tell that quality is being bought, but no huge amount of guests are required. Gladly again anytime!

Beautiful ambience, very nice waiters. Always friendly service, even shortly before the shop closes. The food was incredibly delicious and at more than fair prices. Definitely recommendable.

Amazing service. English speaking and friendly staff! Truffle pasta and tartufo chocolate icecream are a must try!! Very reasonably priced and lovely sitting outside people watching in the summer.

Nice popular Italian restaurant with more stylish dishes then the average pizzaplace. Good atmosphere and good food and people who enjoy their work, taking good care of their quests. The dishes we had were top notch and brought with great flair... 5 stars well deserved!

I’ve never in my entire life experienced such a bad customer service before ! The so called general manager literally told us to leave after we told him he messed up our order. To give Further details, we were three people and ordered a margherita with salami and noodles arrabiata for my vegan friend plus a pizza with chicken. The food came and the vegan arrabiata had cheese aside, but somewhat just excepted that ! The hint in opposite that the pizza with salami is not a margarita gut solved by the general manager with bringing raw tomatoes and raw basil on a plate. So I asked if that’s what he’s doing about messing up the order just adding raw basil and raw tomatoes on an already cooked pizza ?! He took the pizza and complained ... So far so good but the way he treated us was really bad, he took the plate away right from my friend’s hand and slammed it! And when I asked if that’s how he goes about those mistakes and that we’re not gonna pay for that pizza he just said that we should stop eating and leave!

Really great Italian food. Better than standard restaurants in the city. I will go again and would recommend.

The best Italian restaurant in Hamburg for the quality and price. Went twice for the parmesan pasta with tenderloin steak and it is one of the best mouth watering dishes. Also serves best salads and wine options. Staff are amazing, chef Singh and owner Tony are friendly and great people to welcome you. Highly recommend the place if you are new in Hamburg or want to try it as a local.

Great pasta and pizza, nice atmosphere. The worst service I have ever experienced and 6,30 for a bottle of water !!! When we complained, the guys response was “where are you from? There is McDonald’s in the corner”

Ridiculous service, good food and if you dont complain it will go well but if you complain they ll just swear in italian to your face. And guess what, some people speak italian!!!

Excellent food, very nice service. The place is not very big and tables outside are on the sidewalk, so bypassers and street noise has to be taken into account when dining outside. With good weather, however these are the most popular tables so reservations for peak hours are highly recommended.

Great pizza and drinks. Lots of options on the menu. The lunch special is well priced, but you need to be clear that is what you want. The pizza with ham and parmesan had sliced parmesan cheese on it. Service was good as well, and the menu does have English on it.

The food is 5⭐, loved it. Service was very good also, with a great selection of wines. I had lobster ravioli and salmon; safe to say i didn't leave a bite. Proper Italian food

Great Italian restaurant !!

The fresh specialties board seems to be unchanging over months, so essentially the selection isn't based on creating new dishes from the best food on the market that week. It's just a posher way of selling it to you. The pasta we had was ok but verging on overcooked not al dente at all. My porcini filled ravioli didn't taste of porcini. The best things about this place are friendly staff and a great red wine. You'll get a decent average meal with it, but nothing more.

Brilliant food. I had a wonderful saltimbocca, while my girlfriend had the best pasta dish of her life. Simply stunning. The prices are very fair (compared to Denmark). We payed 80€ for a shared starter, two main courses, a bottle of water and a bottle of wine. There was quite a wait to be seated. But the nice owner made the waiting pleasant by giving us a complementary glass of prosecco. Would definitely go again and recommend!
